I am blessed to be really busy supporting schools all over as they look to do something a little different to try to impact standards in writing. This work sometimes involves 30+ hours in my car in a week. Now, I don’t mind driving and I don’t mind the long hours. When I was a Headteacher, the hours were long! School discos, parent consultation evenings, Governor meetings to name a fraction of what ate up the hours.
The nature of my work sees me working with some schools for a day and some schools for an extended amount of time. Some of the schools that I have been working with (in 2014) to embed blogging, social media and Web2.0 tools are:
Hopwood Primary School in Rochdale. Their blogs can be found in the links from their website here.
Spark School Cresta in South Africa.
Spark School Ferndale in Johannesburg.
Newbarns Primary School in Barrow in Furness . Their blog site is developing very nicely – View it here.
I am now however, working with more schools in clusters. Thanks to Pie Corbett for supporting me in creating the right model, this allows me to work with 6 schools at a time over a 2 year period. The focus for this work is all centred around Pupil Premium children. As a cluster, we monitor the data throughout the project on many levels and this helps us evaluate the impact of what we are doing. As it stands, I have 3 clusters in full swing. These are located in:
In January 2015, another 2 clusters will be launching in Wigan and Tower Hamlets. If you are interested in working longer term with me, please do feel free to find out more information here and get in touch. Future clusters for 2015 look likely in Norfolk, Bristol, Bracknell Forest and Bury/Rochdale.
As a result of working so hard, I’ve neglected my own blog! Well… this is going to change!
